Kenemore, George

George W. Kenemore, 73, of Clovis died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque.

He was born on May 25, 1930, to George and Mary Kenemore.

He grew up in Clovis. A veteran of the Korean War, he was discharged honorably in 1952. He fought and was wounded at the Chosen Reservoir for which he received a Purple Heart Medal. He also received a Combat Medical Badge, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and an Army Occupation Medal. He returned to Clovis in 1952 where he worked as a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Oma Lee Kirpach.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Kenemore; a son, George Allan (and wife, Luyda) of Majamar; a daughter, Tammi Brooks (husband, Richard) of Clovis; a mother-in-law, June Roberts of Clovis; two sisters-in-law, Nora Mae Weddle of Hugo, Okla., and Betty Miller of Clovis; an uncle, Johnny Doyle Kenemore of Kingman, Ariz.; three brothers, Arval Gene Kenemore (Margaret) of Early, Texas, Harold Ray Kenemore (Zoe) of El Paso, Texas, Ronnie D. Kenemore (Wynell) of Capitan; eight sisters, Beatrice Houston of Logan, Dorthy Cannon of Farmington, Ella Ruth Burleson of Hannibal, Mo., Mary J. Robertson of Florence, Texas, Lilly Kohler (Don) of Brush, Colo., Carol Brooks (Sonny) of Springdale, Wash., Patricia Vitch of Biloxi, Miss., and Norma Acres (Benny) of Las Cruces; eight grandchildren, Misty Martin (Bill), Chip Fox, Tonya Marcus, BJ Kenemore, Alina Peredeyko, Brandon and Kimber Winters and Stoney Bower; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at 762-5335.
