Reporter's Notebook

Three Clovis residents won awards at the Eastern New Mexico University 2004 Student Juried Exhibition held Jan. 25-Feb.6.

James Estoque won first place for Graphic Design and Motion Graphics. He will graduate this year. Michael Guastaferro won first place for Drawing and Painting and Sandra Reynolds won first place for Photography.

Haig David-West, chairman of the Department of Art, said the event was open to all students from the Portales, Ruidoso and Roswell campuses.

“It is very prestigious,” he said. “They are very good students indeed and we expect them to succeed as they move away from here.

“The awards make quite an impact on their resumes.”

William Green, associate professor of art at New Mexico State University, judged the event.
