Sacket, D. Jack

D. Jack Sacket, 74, of Temple, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Weston Inn Health Center in Temple, Texas.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1929, in Waynoka, Okla., to Henry C. and Edna M. Barnett Sacket.

His family settled in Clovis. He played football for Clovis High School and graduated in 1947. He began working for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1948. He transferred to Temple, Texas. After 45 years of service with the railroad he retired in 1993. He married Robbie Sue Eden in 1957. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Rick Sacket of Temple, Texas; two daughters, Phyllis Mangum of Euless, Texas and Kim Menard of Arlington, Texas; four sisters, Maxine Pratt of grand Prairie, Texas, Deva McFarland of Alamogordo, Joy Protho of Tulsa, Okla. and Janet Wood of Ogden, Utah; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Scott and White Cancer Research Fund, 2401 S. 31st Street, Temple, TX 76508, or the Heart Disease Research Fund or a charity of choice.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. (CST) until 7 p.m. today at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas.

The Rev. Theiss Jones will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Bellwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Temple, Texas.
