Myrtle “Myrt” Pollard, 87, of Clovis died Dec. 15, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1916, in Cameron, Texas, to Ira Lee and Eula Mae Dotson Pascal.

She married Joe Wesley Pollard in March 1933, in Cameron, Texas. She moved to Clovis on March 11, 1943. She worked for the Pullman Company until the company closed. She held various jobs as a cashier, homemaker and owner/operator of Myrts Country Kitchen in Clovis. She was a member of Patterson Chapel CME Church where she served on the Usher Board, was in the choir and helped get the parking lot caliched, dining room tables and shrubbery out front.

She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Myrtle Pollard Barber; her parents; two sisters, Margaret P. Smith and Lovie Crews; and a brother, Ira Lee Pascal.

Survivors include four sons, J.W. Pollard of Amarillo, Bruce Pollard (and wife, Joyce) of Clovis, Pascol L. Pollard of Portales and Bernard Pollard of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Ira Loraine Woodruff (Harvey Sr.) of Inglewood, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Bishop W. Charles Green and the Rev. Eric Bell will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.

Pallbearers will be Bruce, J.W., Pascol, Wayne, Bernard and Andre Pollard, Theron Lumzy and Harvey Woodruff.

Honorary pallbearers are John Martin, Robert J. Robinson, Wesley Lumzy, Oscar Rose, Robert Shaw, Harvey Woodruff Sr. and Leroy Green.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
