Offices to close for M.L. King Day

The following city offices will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day: City Hall, the Clovis Area Transit System, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Baxter-Curren and Friendship citizens’ centers and Clovis-Carver Public Library.

The sanitation division will pick up the commercial and poly-cart routes and the landfill will be open regular hours.

Area banks will also be closed for the federal holiday.

Candidates invited to annual dinner

The New Mexico Democratic Party has invited all eight candidates to speak at its annual legislative dinner Tuesday at the Sweeny Center in Santa Fe.

The dinner, honoring Demo-cratic state legislators, is expected to draw more than 700 New Mexico Democrats, including party and local elected officials.

Parents Anonymous meets Mondays

Parents Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. every Monday in Clovis at the Youth Opportunities Unlimited building, located at Fifth and Mitchell.

Parents Anonymous is a support group for parents who have concerns about parenting.

The sessions allow parents to express their opinions and life experiences. The group supports strong family unity.
