Tickets still available for chamber banquet

Tickets are still available for the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet, but time is running out to reserve them, according to a news release.

The banquet will be Friday at The Landing at Cannon Air Force Base, with social hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

Deadline to purchase tickets is 5 p.m. today. They are $25 each, or $250 per table.

“The chamber banquet looks like it will sell out again this year, so I encourage the community to purchase their tickets as soon as possible,” said Ernie Kos, executive director of the chamber, in the news release.

Tickets may be obtained by calling 763-3435, or by going to the chamber at 215 Main St.

Awards that will be presented include the 2003 Citizen of the Year, 2003 Volunteer of the Year, 2003 Business of the Year, 2003 Ambassador of the Year and the 2003 Hart Award. The latter award is named for Jim and Sharon Hart, and is given to people who exemplify caring.

The banquet theme is “Cruise into 2004,” in celebration of the chamber’s cruise promotion. The drawing for the all-expense cruise for two will take place at the banquet.

Last year’s award winners were: Tom and Gail Martin, Citizens of the Year; Rhonda Payne, Volunteer of the Year; Ron Dickson, Ambassador of the Year; Stacy Martin, Golden Panty Hose Award; Dick and Zala Smith, Hart Award; and Curtis and Curtis Seed Co., Business of the Year.
