SAN ANTONIO — The Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds erased a three-point deficit in the fourth overtime with a 6-0 run and held on to beat Incarnate Word 91-89 on Saturday night.

It was believed to be the longest game in terms of overtimes in the history of either school.

ENMU (5-3) extended its winning streak to three games — all on the road, by a combined total of four points — and is responsible for the only two losses sustained by the Crusaders (6-2) this season. The Hounds beat Incarnate 76-62 on Nov. 18 at Greyhound Arena.

Senior forward-guard Garland Coleman scored 22 points and dished out a game-high seven assists for Eastern, while forward Travazz Buckley tallied 21 points and grabbed a game-high 11 points in his first game for the Hounds. Buckley, who transferred to ENMU at midseason a year ago, gained his academic eligibility this weekend.

Kennis Green added 17 points and Irshaun Pinckney scored 12, including 1-of-2 free throws with no time on the clock to tie the score 84-84 at the end of the third overtime.

Senior forward Robert Tovar led four Crusaders in double figures with 27 points, and hit a 3-pointer to start the fourth OT. With UIW down 90-89, Tovar fouled out with one second left and Coleman converted the first of two free throws for the game’s final point.

Anthony Jackson scored 21 points, D’ Hudson 15 and Chris Johnson 13 for the Crusaders, who had won five in a row since their loss at Eastern.
