Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Police responded about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to a report that paintballs were being shot at cars passing the 1100 block of South Prince.

Officers found numerous broken paintballs and splattered blue paint in a front yard on the block and a large number of unused paintballs along a chain link fence, but were unable to make contact with the resident of the house.

About 6 a.m. Thursday, three engines from the Clovis Fire Department responded to a report of a car fire one mile south of the first curve on State Highway 467. Firefighters found a vehicle on fire but no one in the vehicle or around the vehicle to get information. The fire was extinguished and units retired to the station within 40 minutes, turning over the investigation to police units on the scene.

A high school assistant principal called police Nov. 4 to report two female students have been harassed and threatened in gym class by a group of other girls. Police came to the school, spoke with the staff, and learned that the assistant principal had warned the group to stop.

Police returned the next day after several witnesses heard members of the group saying the two students should not have “ratted” on them and they now need to “watch their backs” and are stupid for wanting to press charges. Police reported they would obtain a warrant for the arrest of the girls who had been threatening harm to others.

About 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, police responded to the 1900 block of North Main regarding theft of a utility trailer. A business owner said he had parked the trailer in his parking lot and then found it missing.

Police issued a be-on-the-lookout order for the trailer, which had an estimated value of $1,400.

A Clovis woman called police about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday regarding a vehicle theft from the 2700 block of Sheldon. The woman said she had left her 1988 Buick in front of a friend’s house about 4:30 p.m. with the keys in the ignition, and found it missing when she tried to leave about 8:30 p.m.

The next day, police arrested the woman’s ex-husband who was found in possession of the car.
