Lady Buffs roll to three-game win over ENMU

CANYON, Texas — West Texas A&M extended a couple of long winning streaks and gave coach Tony Graystone his school record 160th career victory Tuesday night as the Lady Buffaloes defeated Eastern New Mexico University 30-20, 30-25, 31-29 in Lone Star Conference South Division action.

The win kept the Lady Buffs (24-6, 7-1 South) in first place in the division as they seek to wrap up their seventh consecutive crown. It was also their 40th win in a row at The Box, and extended their winning streak over the Zias to 23 matches.

Jessica Scheer collected 21 kills for WT with only two hitting errors, while Libby Garza led five Lady Buffs with double figures in digs with 21. Overall, WT posted a 79-51 advantage over the Zias in digs.

For the Zias, Anna Bellum and Emilie Rodman each collected 11 kills. Kelley McGinty had 13 digs and Jessica Weeks added 11.

The Zias have three matches remaining in the regular season, all at home. They host Angelo State a 7 p.m. Friday, and need a win over the Rambelles to wrap up their 11th LSC tournament berth in the past 13 years.
