Quick goal tops ENMU

ADA, Okla. — It took East Central just 11 seconds to get on the board Sunday, and that’s all the Lady Tigers needed.

ECU handed Eastern New Mexico University a 1-0 Lone Star Conference women’s soccer loss when Jenny Cruz took a pass to the middle off the opening kickoff and drove in to score past Zias goalkeeper Carolyn Vincent.

The Zias (2-11, 1-6 LSC) managed 10 shots in the match, including four on goal, but could never get the equalizer. ECU (6-9, 3-4) failed in 15 shots on goal against Vincent the rest of the match.
