Mr. Leroy Bailey, 71, of Broadview, a farmer/rancher, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on March 16, 1932, in Bethany, Okla., to Ralph and Letha Coffman Bailey.
He graduated from Grady High School in 1950. He joined the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married Betty Armstrong on Oct. 28, 1953, in Clovis. After being discharged from the service in 1954 he moved to Broadview. He served on the Grady School Board, the Cowboy Camp Board and the Nazarene Church Camp Board. He was a member of Broadview Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Lugene Lord.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Allen Bailey of Oklahoma City, Hank Bailey (and wife, Sheila) and Steve Bailey (LaRhonda), all of Broadview and Mike Bailey (Vickie) of Las Cruces; a daughter, Lanette Bley (Leroy) of Bethany, Okla.; two sisters, Elizabeth Sanderson of Carthage, Mo. and Avon Krouskop of Grady; a brother, David Bailey of Clovis; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
The Revs. Tom Thornton and Steve Lord will officiate the services,
Burial will be at Grady Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve, Mike, Allen, Hank, Brice, Derek, Seth, Isaac, Josh, Trace and Sean Bailey, Ralph Bold, Chayson Lord, Leroy and Jacob Bley and Leslie and Larry Sanderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Scott, Buddy Beck, Russell Downey, Adrian Vandevender, Tommy and Wendell Armstrong and Mike Ingram.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grady Alumni Scholarship Fund or the Gideons.
