Highlands blanks Zia soccer
LAS VEGAS, N.M. — New Mexico Highlands did all its scoring in a span of less than 11 minutes and the Cowgirls handed Eastern New Mexico University a 3-0 loss on Sunday in women’s college soccer.
Kim Unten scored unassisted with just over 20 minutes left in the half. Amber Bowman added the next goal with 12:26 to go in the period, and Sara Parra scored with 9:55 to go.
Highlands (4-6) fired 22 shots. Zias goalkeeper Carolyn Vincent was credited with 11 saves.
The Zias (1-4) had four shots on goal in the match, three by Megan Dozier and one by Stacia Givens.
