Gladys Joyce Tindle, 85, of Santa Fe, died Wednesday, Sept. 24,4, 2003, in Santa Fe.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1917, in Bunch, Okla., to Harve Maloy and Jessie Foster.

She married Alexander Tindle in 1939 and they moved to Roswell. They eventually settled in Melrose where they owned and operated the Tindle Grocery for 23 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Melrose and the VFW.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Sethi of Tulsa, Okla., Sue Zahn (and husband, Craig) of Newburgh, N.Y. and Linda McKee of Galisteo; four grandchildren, Sunil Sethi (Greta) of Albuquerque, Suresha Sethi of Tulsa, Okla., Laura Tiffin of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Merridith Ingram (Robert) of Newburgh, N.Y.; a great-grandchild, Mandeleine Ingram; a sister, Ruth Robertson of Stilwell, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are by McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary and Crematory of Santa Fe.
