Lucille Lancaster, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

Mrs. Lancaster was born on Oct. 6, 1922, in Ranchvale to William and Rosa Lane Mills. She was the youngest of seven children.

She was a 1946 graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and taught third grade in the Floyd and Portales school systems before starting a family in 1950. She was a homemaker until 1984, when, because of a disabling illness, she became a resident of Retirement Ranch in Clovis. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Lancaster (wife Marilyn) of Clovis; Kenneth Lancaster of Clovis; and Bob Lancaster (Sharon) of Aurora, Colo. She also is survived by a brother, Vernon Mills of Albuquerque; and two sisters, Maybelle Schultz and Vivian Webb of Portales.

She also is survived by four grandchildren, Tawna Speer (Bobby) of Clovis; Melinda Collins (Jim) of Greeley, Colo.; Shannon Cosby (Jason) of San Antonio, Texas; and Lindsey Lancaster of Aurora, Colo. She also is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Matthew and Emily Speer of Clovis; Kristian Lancaster of Los Angeles; and Kaitlin, Kaylee and Roger Cosby of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles and Bill Mills; one sister, Edith Norris; a grandson, Jason Lancaster; and two great-grandsons, Aaron and Austin Speer.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Webb, Jeryll Webb, Bobby Speer, Jim Collins, Dean Thatcher and Lance Starbuck.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
