Mr. Gary Robert Jackson, 51, of Midland, Texas, formerly of Clovis, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Midland.

He was born October 14, 1951, in Carlsbad, to Phil and Ann Jackson.

He graduated from New Mexico Military Institute High School and went on to junior college there before attending New Mexico State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He married Patti Hoskins on Aug. 5, 1972. He joined the Army and served a short time in active duty, then served the next 13 years in the Army Reserves earning the rank of Captain. He worked in public accounting for many years before moving to the private sector where he started his own firm in 1991. Family members said he was an avid gun collector, a military history enthusiast and enjoyed playing computer games of the Civil War and World War II.

He was preceded in death by a son, Luke Jackson; and a sister, Karen Morris.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Jackson (and wife, Christina) of Lubbock; a daughter, Kathryn Devey (Phillip) of Midland, Texas; the mother of his children, Patti Jackson of Midland; his parents; a sister, Phyllis Hoskins (Bill) of Littleton, Colo; a nephew, Phillip Hoskins; two nieces, Kim Barnes and Jackie Scheidler and their families; and five great-nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Bobby Teakell will officiate the services. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 3001 N. Big Spring, Midland 79705.
