Grace Ruth Dennis, 89, of Bonham, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Fairview Nursing Home in Bonham, Texas.

She was born on July 16, 1914, in Nolanbill, Texas, to John Clem and Maude May Lamb Edwards.

She married Marshall C. Dennis on July 22, 1939, in Brownwood, Texas. She was a school teacher having taught 41 years in the schools at Owens, Early, and Blanket, Texas, and retiring from the school system in Clovis. She was a graduate of Howard Payne University. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bonham where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Red River Valley Art Association in Bonham.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and a brother, George Alva Edwards.

She is survived by a sister, Annabel Bewley (and husband, John) of Bonham, Texas; three nephews, John Bewley (Judy) of Ocean Springs, Miss., David Edwards (Carol) of Chicago, Ill. and Mark Bewley (Sheila) of Bonham, Texas; nieces, Karen Edwards of Exetor, England and Sue Ann Simpson (Bret) of Bonham, Texas; many great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great-nieces and nephews.

The Revs. Roger Marsh and Kevin Towery will officiate the services.

Burial was in Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Bonham, Texas.

Pallbearers were Mark, John, Colt and Dustin Bewley, Bret Simpson, David Edwards, James Simpson and Kirk Dennis.

Arrangements were by Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home of Bonham, Texas.
