Mrs. Adele “Checho” Villanes, 50, of Clovis, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1952, in Carlsbad.
She had been a resident of Clovis the past five years, moving to Clovis from Carlsbad where she lived most of her life. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Carlsbad and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Villanes of the home in Clovis; a son, Oscar R. Villanes Jr. of Clovis; two daughters, Rose Villanes of Clovis and Brandi Alvarez of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, J.J. Villanes, Arianna and Isaiah Alvarez; four sisters, Sylvia Baray, Cathy Martinez, Linda Haide and Brenda Moore, all of Tucson, Ariz.; and her mother, Rosita Casteneda of Tucson, Ariz.
A rosary is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday at San Jose Catholic Church in Carlsbad.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be at the city of Carlsbad cemetery.
A meal will follow at 3 p.m. Friday at the VFW Hall No. 8703 on San Jose Blvd. in Carlsbad.
