Cannon Air Force Base Staff Sgt. Stewart W. Hughes of the 27th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was listed in stable condition at a Lubbock hospital on Thursday following a traffic accident in Clovis on Wednesday.
Hughes was flown to Lubbock’s Covenant Medical Center after his 2001 Honda Civic collided with a tractor-trailer rig on Mabry Drive on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash caused officials to close the road for about two hours.
