Mr. Danny Stockton, 52, of Melrose, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

He was born on March 20, 1951, in Tucumcari, to George and Anina Norris Stockton.

He graduated from Melrose High School in 1969. He married Rhonda Clifton Aug. 23, 1970. He attended West Texas State for three years. He lived, farmed and ranched in the Forrest community all his life. He owned and operated Stockton & Stockton, a trucking business. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Melrose and was a board member of the Southwest Quay and Central Curry Soil Conservation districts.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Stockton of Clovis; two daughters, Janda Bishop (and husband, Clinton) of Lubbock and Jaonne Brandon (John Scott) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Ellie Kate Brandon; and his mother.

E.G. Lambright, Brother Durward Wofford and Brother Fred Caton will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Beevers Cemetery in Forrest.

Pallbearers will be John Scott Brandon, Clinton Bishop, Toby Bostwick, Neal Delk, Keith “Taz” McAlister, Teke Gunn, Charlie, Benny and Bill Stockton

Honorary pallbearers will be his fishing buddies.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
