Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Tori Northcutt, who will be a freshman this fall at Marshall Junior High, has been invited to play in the second annual Blue Star Elite-Eighth Player Camp this weekend in Pottstown, Pa., near Philadelphia.
Northcutt, a 5-foot-7 guard, is one of 150 incoming freshman and eighth grade girls players from across the United States to be invited to the camp. She was asked to participate after playing for the Clovis Wildcats 14-and-under team in the AAU national tournament July 11-19 in Clarksville, Tenn.
“I was really excited (to get the invitation),” Northcutt said. “I’m really excited about it. I think it’ll be a neat experience.”
Northcutt will leave Friday for Pennsylvania. Campers register on Saturday morning, with play scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
She said her mother will accompany her on the trip.
