The following dispositions have been filed in Curry County courts:
District Court
-- Michael G. Morrison, 44, pleaded guilty June 6 to possession of methamphetamine, a fourth-degree felony. Determined to be a habitual offender and sentenced to five years and six months in state prison, with credit for 198 days served and final 18 months suspended, subject to one year release under parole supervision.
-- Savannah H. Teague, 19, pleaded no contest June 11 to possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Sentencing deferred for 364 days and placed on 364 days supervised probation with credit for one day served and special conditions of substance abuse screening, $75 lab fee, and probation costs.
-- Victor Apodaca, 34, pleaded guilty June 23 to burglary of a dwelling house and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, both third-degree felonies, and larceny over $250, a fourth-degree felony. Sentenced to concurrent terms of three years in state prison with credit for 244 days served, subject to two years release under parole supervision and victim restitution.
-- John William Garcia, 30, pleaded guilty June 30 to battery upon a peace officer, resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer, assault upon a peace officer and concealing identity. Determined to be a habitual offender and sentenced to eight years less two days in state prison, with credit for 387 days served. Last four years less two days suspended and placed on four years less two days supervised probation, with $100 DNA testing fee and victim restitution.
Magistrate Court
-- Harry Elwood, 48, pleaded guilty June 10 to driving while intoxicated. Sentenced to $563 fine and 90 days in county jail with credit for 1 day served and 88 days suspended. Placed on 180 days supervised probation with special conditions of attending DUI school and victim impact panel and placing ignition interlock on vehicle.
-- Leopoldo Rodriguez, 40, pleaded guilty June 10 to aggravated driving while intoxicated, second offense. Sentenced to $699 fine and 364 days in county jail with all but 60 suspended and credited for 60 days served. Placed on 304 days supervised probation with special conditions of attending DUI school, victim impact panel and substance abuse screening, and placing ignition interlock on vehicle.
-- Walter Dixon, 23, pleaded guilty June 10 to resisting, evading or obstructing a peace officer. Sentenced to $51 fines and 364 days in county jail with credit for one day served. Time suspended with and placed on 364 days unsupervised probation.
