Virgil “Dan” Sheridan Weekley
Virgil “Dan” Sheridan Weekley, 69, a retired electronics technician, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at his home in Clovis.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Pennsboro, W. Va., to Kenneth and Edith Jack Weekley.
He served in the Army during the Korean conflict and later joined the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. He retired in 1974 after 20 years of active duty. He worked 22 years as an electronics technician for Pruit TV and Appliance and five years for Sears.
He married Patricia Mosley on Sept. 17, 1960. They moved to Clovis and Cannon Air Force Base in 1967 and raised their family. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Family members said he enjoyed playing golf and walking at the mall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim; and a sister, Paulette Barton, of West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sherry Weekley of Clovis and Kelly Weekley of Colorado Springs, Colo .; a son, Brett Weekley of Clovis; a granddaughter, Hali Jo Weekley of Clovis; two sisters, Pam Buelow (and husband Dick) of Ohio and Robin Mills of West Virginia; three brothers: John Weekley of Las Vegas, Nev., Kenny Weekley (and Ingrid) of Ohio and Don Weekley of West Virginia; and stepmother, Marguerite Weekley of West Virginia.
Rev. Jon Forrest of First Christian Church will officiate services.
Military honors are by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Holder, Mike Huerta, Bill Wallace, Charles Copeland, Keith Risdon and Brett Weekley.
