CLOVIS — The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education on Tuesday plans to discuss an alternative education proposal for students focusing on science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Called the CMS iAcademy, the approach would include two days of attendance at a school building and three days of virtual school work from home for students from sixth grade through high school. PORTALES — At Tuesday’s meeting the Roosevelt County Commission is expected to vote on two ordinances that went before the board last month. At the Nov. 20 meeting, County Attorney Randy Knudson said the ordinance promoting ethical conduct came from efforts around the state to institute language establishing standards of conduct and duties of local government officials. CLOVIS — The Curry County Commission is scheduled to introduce an ordinance that would grant a non-exclusive franchise to Grady Wind Energy, LLC during Tuesday’s meeting. The commission is expected to vote on the notice of intent to adopt the ordinance before considering the item again at its Jan. 10 meeting. CLOVIS — A Clovis home was damaged by a fire caused by a space heater early Thursday morning, sending two teenagers to the hospital.
