    PORTALES — Advocate, ally, and mentor were just a few of the appellations given Festival Romanico coordinator Vitelio Contreras by the students who have been at his side in his 18-year journey.     PORTALES — The Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office arrested a Portales man on drug charges and resisting arrest after a brief pursuit on Feb. 6. According to a sheriff's office press release, deputies found Javier Ornelas, 29, passed out in the area of mile marker 3 on New Mexico 235 around 10 p.m. that day. After deputies woke him up, Ornelas sped away in the vehicle. The pursuit lasted approximately a mile when Ornelas suddenly stopped the vehicle, and deputies ordered Ornelas from the vehicle.
