    Managing Editor [email protected] A man accused of shooting a Clovis police officer earlier this year is also facing unrelated charges from 2015 in which he is accused of drug possession and assault on a peace officer. Anthony M. Baca, 34, was in court on Tuesday asking evidence in the 2015 case be suppressed. Judge Fred Van Soelen said he would review the arguments and make a ruling as soon as possible.     Staff Writer [email protected] In order to comply with state regulations that will be applied early next year, booster clubs may have to make some revisions with regard to what items will be offered to patrons at Clovis Municipal Schools concession stands.     Staff report LUBBOCK — The Clovis High swim team opened its 2016-17 schedule in an invitational hosted by Lubbock High on Saturday, and both CHS squads finished third. The Wildcats collected 595 points in the 18-team boys competition, finishing behind the host school (933) and El Paso High (765).     Following a week that included an upset of the conference’s top-ranked team, Eastern New Mexico University was informed Tuesday it had the Lone Star Conference’s offensive and defensive players of the week. Senior Lauren Frye was named for the offensive honor for the fifth time this seaosn. She picked up 59 kills on the weekend, including 24 over No. 10 Angelo State.
