  • Hard to believe in 'accusation market'

    Kent McManigal|Updated Sep 25, 2018

I don’t want to be cynical, but the emergence of a market in politically convenient accusations of sexual misconduct, made at just the right moment, is making me cynical. Eric Murray|Updated Sep 25, 2018

PORTALES — Even with an undefeated record, Clovis boys soccer coach Greg Trujillo knows that his squad is far from invincible. The Wildcats showed a slight bit of vulnerability at times in the first half, but also showed what makes them so tough in the second half, scoring four goals en route to a 6-1 victory over Portales on Tuesday. “When we played (Portales) at home, we had 21 shots and scored three goals. This time, our strength to our play is working our wings, and ope...

    Peter Stein|Updated Sep 25, 2018

CLOVIS — As the days grow shorter, so does the remainder of the Clovis girls soccer team’s schedule. And that means, of course, that the games get more and more important. So Tuesday night’s late-September clash against Goddard was a big one for the Lady Wildcats, and it was big for them that they disposed of the Lady Rockets 5-1 at Leon Williams Stadium. A scoreless game throughout much of the first half, only a one-goal affair at the break, Clovis dominated the second half,...
