  • No easy way to let go of family dog

    I should have known, that Wednesday two weeks ago, when the dog was sitting in the passenger seat looking at me as if trying to memorize my face. In the past 12 years, I have never seen the dog look at me that way. The dog is a terrier, and not given to serious attitudes, nor to long and soulful gazes. Perhaps the dog knew, as I do now, that she will soon be making a journey and that, after she makes that journey, it will likely be a long time before she sees me again.
