CMI staff SANTA FE — Eastern New Mexico University scored the first two goals of the second half, but couldn’t finish off Regis University, falling 3-2 in overtime Friday in the season-opener for both teams. Portales City Manager Doug Redmond named Lt. Pat Gallegos interim police chief Friday, according to a press release. The announcement follows the resignation of Chief Doug Jones. Gallegos said he was “honored to have been selected for the position,” according to the press release. He has been with the department since 2008.
