    Staff report A Portales man involved in a 2009 slaying will serve four years probation after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter last week. Martin Silva, 41, had been slated to go to trial Monday before reaching the plea agreement. Court records show Silva was initially charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of 25-year-old Marco Bonilla of Portales. Silva’s trial originally began in May 2015.   • County office move to be complete day after Labor Day

    Staff report Curry County is operating out of two buildings today, but the ongoing move of county offices should be complete the day after Labor Day. “The move is going along very well,” Curry County Manager Lance Pyle said on Monday. Pyle said the county administration, information technology and maintenance departments are set up and operational at the new building at 417 Gidding Street in Clovis. Owner Lexie Myers said the coffee shop has 12 full-time employees.
