    New kindergartners are bristling with excitement everywhere, but in a particularly positive way over at Parkview Elementary. "Kindergarten Kickoff" has been under way for the last two weeks, courtesy of one of the Clovis Municipal Schools Education Foundation grants, written last year by former principal, Christi Richards, and instructional coach, Deborah Westbrook.     The Clovis City Commission will meet 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library. Agenda items include: - A salary increase of 3 percent for city employees, prorated for those employed less than a year or with less than a "satisfactory" grade on their last performance evaluation. The total cost would be $464,680. - A vote for an ordinance to issue $9 million for street repairs.   • Traffic being rerouted for incoming freshman

    The move-in day for incoming freshmen at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is Saturday, according to an ENMU press release. Traffic is being rerouted for those coming to campus due to highway construction, which closes off one of the main entrances to town and ENMU at U.S. 70 and University. Students coming from the north on U.S. 70 should turn left onto Kilgore at the light by Wal-Mart then turn right on 18th Street.     As students begin a new grade in a new classroom, new principals bring new leadership to Clovis Municipal Schools. Laura Adkins is taking on her first position in Clovis schools this year as principal at Los Ninos Early Intervention Center and Lincoln Jackson Family Center.
