    Staff report A series of surveys to better understand the needs of Clovis’ businesses will be conducted; and committee members who will coordinate said surveys have been chosen. According to a press release from Clovis Industrial Development Corporation, the effort is part of the Business Retention and Expansion Strategies Program.     Staff report Confusion over an airman shot off-base prompted about a 30-minute lockdown Wednesday at Cannon Air Force Base. The lockdown was ordered at 4:49 p.m. based on information an airman assigned to Cannon was a possible gunshot victim at an on-base location, according to a press release from Cannon’s public affairs office. The lockdown was lifted about 20 minutes later after the base received a clarification that the incident happened off-base, the release said.   • False alarm leads to Cannon lockdown

    A false report of an active shooter led to a lockdown at Cannon Air Force Base late Wednesday afternoon. Sgt. Matt Plew, with Cannon's Public Affairs office, said a lockdown was initiated about 5 p.m. because there was an indication of an active shooter. Further investigation after the lockdown determined the report was false, Plew said. Cannon posted an "all clear" notice on its 27th Operations Wing Facebook page.
