  • Sorry for the confusion

link Pat Cantwell Religion columnist Forgive me? Sorry for any confusion in my last article. I was attempting to make three points about forgiveness. The first point was: Parents teach your children the Ten Commandments. Teach them what is right and wrong in God's eyes, not the world's. Teach them that God is love and forgives their sin. Only then, when they know what sin is, can they receive forgiveness and will they be able to give it to others. Do not wait for the church to... Full story

  • Happiness possible in police state

link Kent Mcmanigal Local columnist Perfect happiness may not be possible as a permanent condition in life, but you can still experience moments of perfect happiness if you know where, and how, to look. It can happen even while government works to steal happiness right out of your pocket and regulate or criminalize the bits it can’t take. If you can’t find some happiness in a police state, you probably wouldn’t be happy in a free society, either. There will always be somet...
