    PORTALES - Police are investigating the death of an individual found early Thursday morning at a residence in the 1400 block of South Avenue B in Portales. A police news release said officers responded about 3:30 a.m. Thursday "regarding a possible shooting." Police "located a deceased subject" on arrival and the 9th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit was activated and responded, the release said.     PORTALES — Sandi and Mary Taylor appeared with their attorney Tuesday during a short hearing in preparation for their five-day jury trial scheduled in two months. The mother-daughter pair are each accused of leaving two young children in a hot car last summer while operating their (subsequently shuttered) Portales daycare.     CLOVIS — An ordinance tightening leash laws in Clovis comes before the city commission tonight for final adoption.     CLOVIS — The Clovis Municipal Airport has been awarded $4.3 million in infrastructure grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to an FAA press release. The grants will be used to reconstruct an aircraft parking apron and rehabilitate a runway.
