    David Grieder|Updated Jul 12, 2017

CLOVIS — The Civil Aviation Board tabled action on a proposed lease agreement for T-hangars at the Clovis Municipal Airport after numerous local pilots voiced their concerns Tuesday evening at the board’s regular meeting. Most of those pilots took issue with the lease’s language on aircraft condition and storage accessibility. The requirement that airplanes kept in a privately leased hangar be “airworthy” or “must be made airworthy within 4 months” was an issue for pilots and airplane owners who said certain...

  • Trump's good moves lost in his behavior

    Albuquerque Journal|Updated Jul 11, 2017

Americans have always been proud we live in a country where anybody can grow up to become president. Barack Obama is an excellent example: A biracial kid raised by his white grandparents of modest means who became leader of the free world. Agree or disagree with his politics, Obama was an outstanding role model when it came to civility and manners. Agree or disagree with his politics, you certainly can’t say that about the current resident of the White House. Donald Trump shocked the world with his election last November...

According to Wikipedia, “A conflict of interest exists if the circumstances are reasonably believed (on the basis of past experience and objective evidence) to create a risk that a decision may be unduly influenced by other, secondary interests, and not on whether a particular individual is actually influenced by a secondary interest.” Reading this carefully tells me that the appearance of a conflict of interest is, de facto, a conflict of interest. According to the King...

  • Don't believe in gender grab bag

    Kent McManigal|Updated Jul 11, 2017

Contrary to enlightened opinion, I believe there are only two genders, male and female — with the occasional rare fluke of nature resulting in what used to be called a hermaphrodite. I don’t believe in the grab bag of genders that seems so trendy these days, nor do I believe in the validity of choosing non-binary gender identities, apart from those occasional rarities I mentioned above. I believe in biology. Yes, it’s a shameful confession, revealing one of my terrible...
