Where is it? Alamogordo is located approximately 250 miles west of the Clovis/Portales area on Highway 70. Driving time is about three hours one... Full story

  • Visit to doctor prompts rage

Anita Doberman I am a proactive patient. My family tells me I am a bit of a hypochondriac, but I just think I’m being thorough. I also have five young children, any one of whom is sick at any given time, so visits to physicians’ offices have become a part-time job. From office to office, the waiting room wallpaper and chair arrangements may change (though they are usually the same), the posters and the color of uniform nurses wear may vary, but one thing remains constant: the wait. CANNON AIR FORCE BASE — Effective May 29, the Acute Care Clinic will close until further notice to better manage access because of reduced staffing due to deployments and permanent changes of station. “Call-in” appointments rather than “walk-in” and wait in queue access will be implemented to meet acute care needs. This change does not mean less opportunity to receive acute care. Starting on May 29 clients should call the appointment line at 784-2778 to book an acute appointment. As a reminder, an acute appointment is needed... Full story
