Reality television isn't my cup of tea. Occasionally I catch a glimpse, and the time spent watching isn't with fascination of the program. No, I'm more fascinated with why the American public seems to be spellbound. Call me old-fashioned. Truly, I'll be delighted if you do. I want to see "The Waltons." They weren't hoarders. They didn't take pleasure in airing dirty laundry. They didn't need to have every ninth word covered over with an annoying bleep. But they were real. They sat down to meals together, loved one another,...

Parker said his smoke bushes were completely bloomed before the overnight freezes last week wiped them out. He hopes Monday night was the start of good weather for the area. "Usually by now everything is green and budded," Parker said....

She struggled at times, and Portales finished third in a field of three full teams at 357, trailing Lovington (336) and Texico (354).
