    ALBUQUERQUE — Environmentalists are criticizing federal wildlife officials for their plan to revamp proposed protections for a prairie grouse found in several western states. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Friday that it will reopen the comment period on the proposal to list the lesser prairie chicken as a threatened species.     Gov. Susana Martinez got a slice of local economics Friday during a brief visit to the Southwest Cheese plant in southern Curry County. The first-term governor did not arrive in time for a tour of the plant, but said she hoped to have the time to make the tour on her next visit.   • Cats unable to get third leg for state golf

    ROSWELL — Clovis High's golfers came up short of the third leg needed to qualify for Class 5A state golf. Meantime, the Portales Rams are still without a leg in Class 3A. Both teams will have to win their respective district tournaments on Monday to send their teams to state, although the Wildcats have now qualified three individuals.
