  • Jesus source of strength and comfort

    Judy Brandon|Updated Apr 26, 2018

Memories of my childhood days and Sunday nights in the old church at 8th and Hinkle are still vivid in my mind. It could be a daunting place at night after Sunday night services and all were gone. On many Sunday nights I would stay with my preacher father after church was over and would ride home with him. But one Sunday was unlike others and I remember it well. I was about eight years old and on this Sunday, the custodian was out of town so daddy had to turn all the lights...

  • God's mercies are 'new every morning'

    Curtis Shelburne|Updated Apr 26, 2018

Third bird. That’s the term author Daniel Pink uses in his book, When, for folks who aren’t by nature larks (morning people) or owls (night people). Having taken the analysis he recommends for determining where one nests on that feathery continuum, I was a little surprised to find myself perched in the third bird category. Audra Brown, Down on the farm|Updated Apr 26, 2018

For whatever, reason, there was a reason to recall some stories of a much younger me, about the time I’d become fully certified to ride a cow-...
