  • Avon Lady looked good working

Down on the farm link Audra Brown Country girls can get work done and look good doing it. Now, I’m about the furthest thing from an expert on the subject. In form and function they are close to perfection, providing users with essential operations like calling, texting, calendars and alarms while being sleek and small eno... Full story

  • Leading worship a big responsibility

    Curtis Shelburne

Religion columnist link Curtis Shelburne I love what happens when God’s people worship, and I count it a joy and a high honor to help lead worship. It’s odd, though, that leading worship and worshiping are not the same things. They can be difficult to do at the same time. Conscientious worship leaders can easily get so caught up in the nuts and bolts of leading worship that they themselves worship hardly at all. Some of that tension is unavoidable. Trying to structure wor...

    Judy Brandon

By: Judy Brandon link Judy Brandon Columnist It was 1977, a few months after Buffy was born. Annie and John Scott had chicken pox, and Buffy was just beginning to break out with the same. • EPA orders Farwell to upgrade plant

DEPUTY EDITOR [email protected] Farwell is on notice it must upgrade its wastewater treatment plan. The orders to upgrade came from the Environmental Protection Agency, Mayor Joe Stanton said Thursday. The cost and how to pay for it, however, has yet to be determined, he said. The plant, Stanton said, hasn't been updated since 1986. “The EPA came in with their new options,” Stanton said. “Anyway, we have to put bladders down in the bottom of our tanks. It's just a new deal EPA's come out with.” The bladders, he said, a...
