    STAFF REPORT An inmate who attempted suicide early Monday morning is in stable condition and under guard in the surgical intensive care unit at a Lubbock hospital, according to Curry County Undersheriff Mike Reeves. The inmate has been identified as Jeffery Boatwright, 47, of Clovis. He was booked on March 24 for aggravated battery with a cash bond set at $1,000. Mesa Elementary teacher Shawn Pelfrey said the Destination Imagination competition attracted 80 different teams from around the state who competed in seven different categories.     Staff report Hobbs finished well ahead of the pack Wednesday at Lake Carlsbad Golf Course, while Clovis’ girls and boys teams finished second and fifth, respectively. The Clovis girls shot 402 to edge Artesia (403), Portales (405) and Carlsbad (411), but were well behind the Eagles at 374.
