Jose Zapata is charged with aggravated battery and parole violation, according to Capt. Lonnie Berry of the Portales PD. He is being held at the Roosevelt County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.     Roosevelt County sheriff’s deputies seized about a pound marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $500 from a Portales residence on Thursday, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. A 24-year-old female was arrested leaving the residence on misdemeanor drug charge and for resisting arrest. A sheriff’s deputy used a Taser to immobilize the woman when she refused to cooperate, the release said.     Freedom New Mexico The Great American Cleanup is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25, starting at 500 Sycamore. The Clovis landfill will waive fees from noon Friday to 5 p.m. April 27 in conjunction with the event. Tire dumping will only be allowed for residential customers.     Oscar Klein and his wife moved to a dugout home about 15 miles northwest of Clovis. Soon the family moved into Clovis around 1909. They had two daughters, Elizabeth, born in 1911, and Virginia, born in 1913.     Freedom New Mexico Wayne Marshall, current principal of Moriarty High School, is the new principal at Clovis High School. Superintendent Rhonda Seidenwurm made the announcement Friday.
