CLOVIS — Curry County commissioners on Tuesday approved a 2.25% cost of living salary increase for county employees. The wage increase will apply to all county employees with at least a year of service, and will be granted to other employees once they reach their one-year anniversary. PORTALES — A 36-year-old Portales man on Monday was sentenced to 16 years in prison for the 2018 shooting death of Erika Zamorano. Gerardo Marquez was found guilty of second-degree murder on Sept. 27.
