Volunteers at the nonprofit have been trained on a computer program that allows them to help people apply for assistance through several assistance programs.     United Dairy Women’s Dairyfest attracted thousands of people Saturday after taking a year off in 2010. Michelle Heavyside, founder and director of United Dairy Women, said the group wasn’t able to book a date for the event last year at the Curry County Events Center. “Right now, we need to book a date for Dairyfest for next year.   • CCC board approves contract for next president

    The Clovis Community College board of trustees approved a five-year, $145,000 a year contract Wednesday for incoming president Becky Rowley. Rowley, CCC’s executive vice president, was chosen as President John Neibling’s successor in April. Neibling announced in February he is retiring in August after five years as president. Rowley said she will assume the duties of president on July 18. Neibling’s salary is $144,585 and Rowley’s current salary is $126,700.
