Clovis man sentenced for aggravated battery

CLOVIS — A Clovis man on Thursday was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading no contest to aggravated battery of a household member, false imprisonment, and battery of a household member.

Rakeem Johnson, 26, will be on parole for two years after serving his sentence, according to a news release from District Attorney Andrea Reeb.

The charges are all felonies.

The incidents occurred on two separate occasions in 2017.

The sentence was enhanced due to a prior felony conviction, the news release said.
