Bodies found in Chaves County could be missing couple from Bovina

Two bodies found in a remote location on a Chaves County ranch may be those of a Bovina couple missing more than two weeks, officials in Parmer County said today.

Rosendo Lara, 81, who suffers from dementia, and Hortencia Lara, 84, whom family members said “gets confused” were last seen on Jan. 19.

Identities of the bodies were not immediately confirmed, pending an autopsy.

Bovina Police Chief Joe Orozco said a pickup that matches the description of the Lara's pickup was found near the bodies.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
