Fire station construction report on Curry agenda

CLOVIS — Owner of Davtek Corp. Randy Kamradt will present an update on construction of the Broadview Fire Station at the Curry County Board of Commissioners regular meeting this morning.

Kamradt last updated the board in September when he said that construction had recently been delayed due to rusted framing materials, but the supplies had been replaced and construction was expected to be completed in November.

Also on the agenda for today’s meeting:

• The board will vote on a contract with Trane to begin contract development for HVAC renovations to the Curry County Courthouse.

Curry County Interim Facilities Maintenance Superintendent Ben Roberts said if the board approves the contract today, Trane will have 90 days to develop designs and plans to present to the board.

Roberts said Trane has given an estimated cost of $2.5 million for the project.

• The board will hear three other presentations: Curry County Events Center and Fairgrounds General Manager Joelle Reed with the Events Center and Fairgrounds Financial Statements for Sept. 30, Curry County Road Superintendent Dennis Fury with the Road Departmental Report and Curry County Detention Center Administrator Mark Gallegos with the Detention Center Report for October.

• The board will vote on a resolution to increase budgeted revenue and expenses by $17,500. The move would allow the county to spend money it received in that amount as a juvenile adjudication grant the county received, Curry County Manager Lance Pyle said.

• The board is expected to approve a 1.5 percent in compensation for Correctional Healthcare Companies, bringing the contract total to $1,161,970.56 for Sept. 2-17 through Aug. 2018.

Pyle said the increase is due to an increase in the consumer price index.
