1982: Under the direction of Wayne Anderson, the Clovis High School Choir qualified more students for the New Mexico All-State Choir than any other school in New Mexico.

Thirty-eight CHS singers earned the right to travel to Albuquerque for two days of intense rehearsals with the top student singers from around New Mexico. The experience was capped with a concert at Popejoy Hall on the campus of the University of New Mexico.

It was CHS' second year to lead the way with most students placed from a given choir.

1962: The Causey Tomcats beat the Elida Tigers 54-47 in a weekend basketball game hosted by Causey. Jackie Duncan was high scorer for the Tomcats with 16, while John Lieb led the Tiger team with 18.

Meanwhile, Dora had traveled to Texico and defeated the host team 40-38 in the season opener for both schools.

Dora High School's Jimmy Harp led all scorers with 15 points, while Texico's Vic Harrington contributed 13 points for the Wolverines.
