Knit leggings easy to make

Information on using boxes for kitchen organization, sewing knit leggings and making a gumball cupcake will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon. (All times are Mountain.)

Bruce Johnson is from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, and will talk about getting and keeping your kitchen organized while bringing some charm, color and character into the room. He suggests using inexpensive unfinished boxes along with a variety of products.

Deborah Kreiling will demonstrate sewing knit leggings with patterns. Not only are leggings so popular, they are comfortable to wear and easy to make. Kreiling will show seam finishes and talk about selecting knit fabrics and show how to stitch on elastic. She’s from New York City.

Emily Tatak is going to demonstrate how to make a gumball cupcake. These make adorable favors or decorations at a child’s birthday party, or for any afternoon get-together. Wilton is located in Woodridge, Illinois.

Information on making citrus centerpieces, pairing figs with cheese varieties and making mixed media crafts will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Kymberly Meade is a marketing coordinator in Mission, Texas. She will demonstrate how to entertain with grapefruit and oranges and show how to make an elegant centerpiece with these fruits. Other tips include the health benefits and proper selection.

Karla Stockli and Robert Del Grande are located in Fresno, California. They will discuss the different varieties of figs and explain how to pair them with various cheeses and wines. Del Grande is a restaurant owner in Houston, Texas, and he enjoys experimenting with different ways to serve figs.

Crafting expert Maria Nerius says that mixed media is “the” word in crafting, but what does it mean? She will focus on the tools and supplies needed as well as show samples of various items that feature more than one medium. She lives in Palm Bay, Florida.

Gumball cupcake

Bake and cool 24 cupcakes. Spatula ice 12 gumball cupcakes with Chocolate RTD (Ready to Decorate) Icing and cover each iced cupcake with milk chocolate candies. Using Black Food Writer Marker, write ‘5¢’ on a white Necco candy wafer. Flip red cupcakes top side down, top with another red baking cup (if desired). Using small amount of buttercream, attach wafer to red liner cupcake. Place gumball cupcake on its side and using buttercream, adhere red gumdrop on top of gumball cupcake. Place on Gumball Cupcake Stand or Gumball Cake Board.
