Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and Owen King

In this collaboration between renowned horror writer Stephen King and his son Owen King, the father and son duo have created a futuristic world that poses the question of what would happen should women disappear from the waking world and men have turned completely savage. Set in small Appalachian town and in a future so near and realistically chilling that it could be today, women have been infected with the ability to become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze whenever they sleep, becoming both violent and utterly inhuman whenever they are awakened or if the gauze is disturbed. While they are sleeping, however, their minds go somewhere else, a better place where peace and tranquility reigns. One woman known as “Eve Black”, unfortunately, is immune to the sleeping disease, and while some of the men wonder if she is someone that should be studied medically for answers, others believe that she must be killed to prevent any disturbance to the current state of the world, leading to a full-blown war between the men with no other woman awake but Eve to try to stop them.
