Man gets nine years in sexual assault

CLOVIS — A man convicted in March of sexual assault was sentenced Tuesday to nine years in the Department of Corrections, according to a press release from District Attorney Andrea Reeb.

Logan Reavis, 28, of Clovis was found guilty this year of sexually assaulting a woman in her bedroom at the end of a house party she hosted with her husband in November 2014.

Judge Fred Van Soelen gave Reavis the maximum prison term permitted by law, following a two-hour sentencing hearing.

“I’m exceptionally pleased. It was a long and hard fight, but the victim finally received the justice that she deserved today,” said Chief Deputy District Attorney Brian Stover, who led the state’s prosecution.

Reavis’ defense attorney, Thomas Harden, declined to comment.
